FLATTEN THE CURVE VIRTUAL EXHIBIT
All artists were invited to submit to an online exhibition entitled “Flatten the Curve”. The exhibition has been shared on our Facebook page which has over 10,000 followers and digitally very soon. The exhibit offered an opportunity for artists of all levels to show what they have created recently. Viewers get to see the many different ways people are interpreting, responding to and feeling during this worldwide pandemic; a phenomenon that is affecting each of the billions of individuals on the planet. The Art Center of Corpus Christi wants to honor our heroes who, through their selfless efforts, have been on the frontline in caring for our community during the COVID-19 pandemic. From first responders to essential workers and beyond, we ask you to celebrate your Coastal Bend Hero or Heroes by submitting your artistic expression of gratitude to these brave people.

The Barry Brown Clay Studio is a dedicated work space for the ceramics medium. There are 7 wheels, 3 electric & 1 gas kiln, a hand-building room, classes and affordable memberships. There is also a Potter's Shop with a variety of ceramics pieces always for sale!

The Art Center features numerous galleries with a huge variety of art, and classrooms aimed at helping the local art community grow and have opportunities for collaboration- both things all artists need! When I wanted to talk with someone who could answer some questions about the Center and how its artists became members and how other things functioned, there was no hesitation in sharing what information they had. It seems to be a wonderful place to buy and showcase local art, allowing their local art community to thrive!! Not only will we be back, but in our own hometown, we will be patterning our offerings to our local artists in a similar way!

Wow! We were looking for things to do within walking distance of where we were staying, so we wandered on over to the Art Center. Absolutely fell in love with all of the local art and artists on display there. If we had more time, we may have signed up to take a class while visiting. It was very low key when we went, but still nice to roam around and take out time. Definitely going back.
